I am mounting all of the major electronics, ECU, GCU Radio etc, on the passenger side. However I need a main earthing point to the chassis, so I welded one on!

Helmet

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

In preparation for an upcoming trackday, where we have an intercom, and future testing, I thought I had better get my helmet kit installed. Its not a difficult job to do but there is always a bit of a worry that you dont want to mess up your helmet! The first job is to remove the insides. You basically just pull it out, somewhat worrying how easy that is to do!

Lights

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

There has been a bit of discussion recently about the requirement for rear lights. I have always read the blue book as saying that you need them, but they have never seemed to enforce this rule, until now. Also, having somewhat thought that I might like to enter other races from time to time, having brake lights is a must, so I am going to put them on. I can always take them off if the rules are modified to save weight. While I was thinking about this I thought that I might aswell have some indicators, as when doing a driver change indicating that you are pulling in has got to at least give the chap behind some clue as to what you are doing!

I have decided to go for LED lights. They are a little more expensive, but should be much more rugid, and as there are no bulb connections to get right, this should help aswell! So the first item on the list was to work out how far apart to space them!
