I am a little concerned about heat soak when the car comes into the pits. To counter this I ‘won’ on ebay a leaf blower. This pokes down towards the water radiator to help keep it all cool, well thats the idea!

Reverse Sprocket Tool

Lynx AE ’s reverse uses a sprocket bolted to the gearbox output shaft to drive the car in reverse. The sprocket also doubles as the nut. Obviously there is a slight issue with tightening up the sprocket as you cant use a socket! However this has been thought through, and, as you can see below the sprocket has holes in it to use to get purchase.

Measure Twice Cut Once…Hopefully

Today I made a stand for the rear of the chassis to lift it off the floor. In the future I will make some small stands for race day to just lift the wheels off the floor for tyre changes, but this stand, and the one yet to be made, are mainly for building the chassis on. They lift it about 500mm from the floor to a comfortable working height.Now yes, they are slightly over engineering, you could probably prop a jumbo jet up with them, but the material was all I had available and at least I wont have to worry about them!!!
