ARB’s

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

I pickedup the ally and acetal bushes for the anti roll bars. I had had a drawing of them previously but had decided not to wled on plates just in case I miss measured. At least this way I could assemble everything up and see what was going to hit etc. First up was to assemble the ARB with the blade. I had only just got the bolts as they were a funny size!

Roll Bars

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Previously I have mentioned that I am making up some roll bars for the car. Well I finally got round to this and here they are. This is actually the front bar and the ends are deliberatly welded on at 115 degrees, not quite as good as 90 degrees, but that didnt fit so.. I had hoped to pick up the mounting blocks and nylon bushes for these but unfortunatly they had been forgotten, nevermind!

‘Chopper’ Wheels

Monday, April 6th, 2009

After modifying the front axles for the chopper wheels the sensor needed to be mounted. I decided that it was OK to machine a small part of the upright away for the sensor to poke through, it was either this or extended everything further inboard but I cant see any problem with this. In this region of the upright it is very thin so I am not worried at all by machining this little away.

Mounting The Dampers

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

I had to make up an array of different spacers to suit the dampers and the mounting points on the car, basically the width between the pick ups was greater than the width of the dampers. Now i could have done this with washers but I chose to make up some fancy spacers, they should be better anyway.

Drive Flanges

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

So, after bolting on the wheels a few times, I noticed that the wheel centres had slight marks between the wheel studs. After checking the drive flanges it all became clear. I had placed a washer underneath the caphead bolt bolting the bell to the flange. This caused the caphead to slightly protrude the C-Bore, as shown in the picture below.
