After sorting the throttle cable it suddenly dawned on me that there were no throttle stops in either direction! Obviously the butterflies stopped at full chat, but there was nothing stopping me from pressing the pedal more and snapping the cable. There was also nothing stopping the pedal falling backwards, so I decided to knock up some stops. I cut out some strips of steel, bent a flange, filed a V, bent this to the required angle and welded it all up. Simple.

Monday, September 7th, 2009It may appear that I have been a bit lacking on updates. And I suppose this is true, but I have been busy with work and then spent the bank holiday down in Devon. But getting back on subject, next on the list was the throttle cable. I decided to run this inside the sidepod on the drivers side. The cable basically runs up from the engine to the bulkhead, down the the floor, along the side of the car and then dives into the footwell. It sounds pretty bad but actually the bends are very large radius so hopefully it should all be OK. Below is the hole, prior to deburring etc, where the cable threads itself into the footwell.
