Unfortunately whilst testing the fuel system after changing the pump for a slightly smaller one, I noticed the fuel pressure was all over the place. It turns out that the pressure reg had gone down. It would work some of the time, but it you tapped it the pressure changed! Luckily we had a couple of spares for the 935, so I swapped it in. All seems OK now, so fingers crosses.

New Fuel Pressure Reg
Saturday, December 19th, 2009Air Ducting
Sunday, December 6th, 2009The heat reflective ‘stuff’ has a sticky back to it and I assume is up to the task. After sticking it to the airbox as shown before I trimmed it back to suit the curve of the body. It actually looks a little lopsided, but that is because the airbox is not in the centre of the car as its offset from the centre of the engine. Until I realised this I thought that something was drastically wrong!I then used some ally tape to cover the edges and the raised rear section. This actually came out pretty well, yes I know the top edge will get bent around a bit, but I dont think that really matters! I also stuck a small bit of the heat reflective gaff on the underside of the box close to the exhaust.
Drains
Sunday, October 25th, 2009OK, So the engine is back in now, but before I refill the oil and coolant systems I thought it would be a good idea to make it much easier to drain. It was possible before, but it was a real pig of a job! This is only really a problem as the car floor is totally covered and access to the pipes etc is a little restricted! First on the list was a drain for the coolant. I decided to make up a ‘T’ piece and have a remote drain pipe.
Engine Out?!
Sunday, October 18th, 2009Now, I know I am supposed to be building the Arachnid, but Neil from GEARTRONICS asked me if he could borrow some kit from my engine for the paddleshift. Seeing as the wiring is not done yet, I helped Neil out. This did however involve removing the engine.
Air Scoop
Monday, October 12th, 2009This weekend I picked up the air scoops that I showed the buck of before. I have had them made in carbon as basically it didnt cost me anything and I thought it looked pretty snazzy! Although its not vacuumed, due to lack of time, but they may arrive in a sometime next year! They need a little trim and then fitting. Things are really coming together.
