I finished off the radiator to pump pipe. I need to make a bracket to mount the pump as it seems the way I have mounted the actuator valves just interfere with one of the pressing of the pump, but it shouldnt take long!

Water Pipes
Saturday, August 1st, 2009Water System
Monday, July 27th, 2009Moving to the other side of the car, my focus turned to the water system. I have previously shown pictures of the buck for the duct etc, but now it was time for the final fit. After removing the cooler and grinding/filing the louvres out properly, which I advise anyone to do outside as the amount of dust such a small amount of grinding seems to make is inexplicable, I bolted it all back together. The pipes are the standard silicone type that you can get from anywhere, these are from raceparts as they give me a good deal on everything! Now, lots of people seem to run the whole system in the silicone pipe, but really you should run as much as possible in something like ally pipe, as when the water gets hot it doesnt expand nearly as much as the silicone stuff!
Oil Cooler Connected Up
Monday, July 27th, 2009Not much I know, but the list is getting shorted by the day! The picture actually makes it look like the duct is bowed, but it doesnt appear to be in real life, perhaps its something to do with the digital camera an the weave?? the oil lines are left deliberately long to enable the sidepod to be removed without having to undo the cooler and drain the oil!
Oil Cooler Ducting
Monday, July 6th, 2009I was supposed to pick up the cooler ducts last weekend but things didnt quite end up going to plan! So I nipped over and picked them up on Saturday. These were made from my ally jobs, albeit with a fair smattering of filler etc to get them nice and smooth on the inside! All I had to do was to drill the holes for the oil cooler fittings, which was a somewhat nervous procedure as if I got it wrong that would be that! But it all panned out OK and
Oil Catch Tank
Monday, May 18th, 2009Now, I know, I did already have a catch tank, but having made the oil pipes it is clear it doesnt actually fit! What I decided to do was to weld a tank to the side of the oil tank. This basically allows it to overhang and use up some of the previously unusable space as anything would need to be supported by sky hooks! I have included a sight glass on the side and a drain underneath.
