After running the car up to temp before, I was fairly sure about the size of expansion tank required. Its not exactly rocket science but all looks nice! The large aeroquip fitting is for filling the tank with fluid. I just hope the rubber hose sight glass doesnt melt. If this is a problem I can modify it, but this was cheaper so I though I would start with this!
In order to help the engine I am trying to get a nice source of cold air to the inlet trumpets. What I have decided is to draw in the air and duct it to a box around the inlets. I wanted to keep the original ally base plate for the filter as it is made of a ‘hard’ ally and should be better, so have made up this plate to go below the base plate and then weld a return all the way around.
My current setup means that the engine is going to be drawing all its air from over the hot exhaust headers. This is clearly not the best idea, as the engine will be losing power! To rectify this I have made up some air scoops. These will be identical on both sides and go just in front of the rear wheels. The pictures make these look really quite big, I should have taken the photo with a ruler or something, but I didnt realise until it was too late!

efore doing the corner weights it is important to gewt the car as close to the real weight as possible. So that meant filling the car with oil
Continuing the watery theme, I have found a bottle for a trial expansion tank. Not sure what it was but I found it in a cupboard in the kitchen! The pipe is some old kart fuel line but seems to fit the job quite well.
