Door Hinges

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

I know the previous video of the doors, was probably the most dull video anyone has ever seen, but I thought I would bombard you with a little more about them! Below is a pic of the technical catch itself.

Doors

Monday, December 14th, 2009

The car is now pretty much finished, apart from a good clean and stickers. That said, the fuel reg seems to have gone up the swany as the pressure seems to vary anywhere from 3.5 Bar to 4.2 Bar!!!

Below is a short of the door operation. It was filmed on a camera phone, but you can still see how it all works. You can obviously open the door from inside and the latch can be in the locked position before shutting (to help stop someone trying to help by shutting the door and breaking the latch!)

It actually looks a little lopsided, but that is because the airbox is not in the centre of the car as its offset from the centre of the engine. Until I realised this I thought that something was drastically wrong!I then used some ally tape to cover the edges and the raised rear section. This actually came out pretty well, yes I know the top edge will get bent around a bit, but I dont think that really matters! I also stuck a small bit of the heat reflective gaff on the underside of the box close to the exhaust.
