125cc 2 Stroke Bike Trickery

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

OK, so this has nothing to do with the Arachnid, but I thought that some chaps might find it interesting! I have been asked to develop system to help stop 2 stroke bike engines from seizing after extended periods of full throttle, without having to make the main jet any larger, so you can jet for max power. This is actually going to be used in the British Championship this year!

Obviously this is just the development board, and the pot on the right is just for testing purposes. When its all done I will design a PCB and get a batch made up. It will be user configurable, although I will obviously stick in some reasonable settings to make it work straight out of the box!

Air Blower

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

I am a little concerned about heat soak when the car comes into the pits. To counter this I ‘won’ on ebay a leaf blower. This pokes down towards the water radiator to help keep it all cool, well thats the idea!

Electronics Cover

When sorting the passenger door hing I had to move the ECU. I then had a bit of a think, and noticed that any water getting in would drip all over it! This is obviously not the most intelligent thing, so knocked up a small cover.

Door Hinges

I know the previous video of the doors, was probably the most dull video anyone has ever seen, but I thought I would bombard you with a little more about them! Below is a pic of the technical catch itself.
