Carrying on from cockpit cooling, I thought that it might be a good idea to try to get more heat out of the engine bay. The plan being this would mean less would come into the cockpit! To do this I am in the process of adding some louvers to the rear panel. What I intend to do is glue/rivet ally pieces to make the louvers to experiment. Once its all sorted I will then update the mould for panel and make a new one, as with its of ally all over the place it will look a bit ratty!
the louvers in the rear panel are all positive ones to help draw the air out. I will thought put some negative ones in the sides to draw in cold air. these may need to be positive aswell as it is most likely low pressure around the bubble, but I will start with negative ones for now as they should be less draggy!
The reason for the gap in the louvers is purely that the engine air intake sits in the gap and is sealed to the body. cold air is then directed into the sealed compartment by the air intake on the sides of the car. I have a plan for these, but that will be in another post…
