Oil Filter

I have not yet finished the oil cooler, hopefully next week, but to help save it, I have decided to run a filter. I ordered a Mocal oil filter housing with #12 fittings on it. I then nipped to the local motor factors to get a filter and it turns out to be the same filter as an Aston something or other. Only the highest quality for me!!!! hmm…

I then took off the drivers side side pod. This is the side with the oil coolers inside the duct. I then took off the duct and coolers and cleaned the pod. Again there was a load of grit and rubbish inside it!

The oil pipe on the scavenge side was then cut and a straight fitting stuck on the end. The filter will run roughly in the position in the photo. Remember that the side pod effectively extend the width of the flat floor. I have a new cunning plan for the cooling air to hopefully further reduce the drag of the car aswell. It should hopefully also further reduce the temps.
