Whilst driving round I had absolutely no idea of the next problemette! But it quickly became apparent when we took the rear body section off!!!! Basically one of the driveshafts had thrown a LOAD of horrible nasty CV grease all over the place!
This is not an uncommon problem, and the tweak is to allow the air to get out of the gaiter when its all hot and swishing around. To do this I cut some of the copper brake pipe into approx 1 inch long bits and inserted these between the gaiter and the shaft.
Below you can see it all in position. I have honestly cleaned the car since this as it was truly awful!! But it does show how bad the conditions were!
