Air Ducting

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Picking up where I left off, the first job was to finish of trimming the holes int he rear panel. These do just need a bit of final rubbing down with emery, but the tank tape makes the edge look far worse than it is! The fibres dont really grind well with the air ‘whizzer’, and end up all stringy. I really should have used masking tape!

Air Scoops

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

With the job list dwindling, the job at the top of the list was to attach the air scoops. I decided, by eye, roughly where I wanted to stick them so stuck a load of tape over the area. I couldnt find the masking tape, so just used a load of orange tank tape, which you can just about make out in the pic below.

I received the final bits of the loom on Saturday, the rear lighting loom and front wheel speed extension pieces. I quickly set about getting these on the car and testing them.

First Gearchanges

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

After getting everything sorted, I thought I would try to get the engine running again, and this time give the gearchange a whirl!

I have only just glanced at the gearchange settings, so the blip is a little coarse. Remember also that there was no throttle so the engine does almost die when cut! You can also see the neutral selection working correctly!

Listen out for the blips on the downshifts!

Water Expasion Tank

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

I have said before I am running an expansion pot in the water system. Below you can see how I have installed the final pot. The flexible pipe connects to an ally pipe inside the pot that extends all the way to the bottom, so that it is always covered in fluid.
