In order to help the engine I am trying to get a nice source of cold air to the inlet trumpets. What I have decided is to draw in the air and duct it to a box around the inlets. I wanted to keep the original ally base plate for the filter as it is made of a ‘hard’ ally and should be better, so have made up this plate to go below the base plate and then weld a return all the way around.
This is the final base plate. I need to weld a 3.5 inch return all the way around to seel(ish) the box to the body. I will then weld in some tubes for the two inlets into the box into this return. I might try to get this finished next week but we are prepping the Lotus for the britcar 6 hour, so next week might be out!
