After fitting in the wheel arch ducts I changed my mind over the previous panel for the dash. Instead of the curved panel, which would have required a couple of other panels to fill in the lower area of the dash I have decided to make a new panel which fits between the wheel arch ducts. This means less work AND less weight, so its a real winner! First, was to get the profile of the body where it was going to fit. To do this I stuck some cardboard onto the front of the spider section and just traced over it with a felt marker.

Dash Panel
Sunday, August 9th, 2009Rear Body Section
Sunday, August 9th, 2009I noticed when I put the wheels on the car that when in full droop, the rear of the rear wheels touched the body. This is unlikely to be a problem when going the round the circuit, as in all honesty it would just wear through pretty quickly! However, when putting the wheels on and off in the paddock it would almost be impossible. So I decided to just trim away a little clearance.
Wheel Arch Liners
Saturday, August 8th, 2009As I mentioned before I have made up some wheel arch liners for the front. Well it was time to fit them. I am only bolting them on with small bolts, as I want them to be removable for access reasons.
Bleed Pipe
Saturday, August 8th, 2009There has been much discussion on the BEC forums about engine problems, possibility of det or possible localised boiling of the cooling system. One thing under discussion is the water system and how people have plumbed it all up. To help my system I am running a constant bleed from the top of the rad back into the header tank. As I had already welded on some dash 3 fittings to the header tank, I decided it would be easiest to run the line in dash 3 pipe.
Front Anti-Roll Bar
Friday, August 7th, 2009The front anti-roll bar is now on. I welded on some tags to stop it moving in the same manner as the rear. I have not made the drop links yet, I will do this when its on the floor, which hopefully wont be too long!
