Windscreen

The next major job on the list was the windscreen. I had a net to draw around, from the mould, to get the shape. The screen is made from 6mm Lexan, polycarb, with an anti-scratch coating (Not sure how long that will last but its worth a try).

Marking Out

Cutout

Below you can see that forming the screen was going to be tricky, especially as its 6mm!

Starting To Mount The Screen

My cunning plan was to warm it up. So, with the space heater on full blast mounted on the front of the car, I decided to spend my time finishing a paying job! But after about 30 mins, the lexan was too hot to touch and the room hotter than a sauna, the lexan was no closer to forming than before!

Warming Screen To Help Form

In the end I just had to grin and bare it and just bolt it down!

Almost Done

Once fitted I masked up the centre of the screen to paint the edge black.

Masked For Paint

The screen is now painted and mounted. Unfortunately the paint seems to have not taken that well, even with a key (although with the anti-scratch coating giving it a key was a little tricky so maybe the key was a bit useless!). But for now it will have to do!
