I wanted to get the front suspension on, but first I had to knock up some new steering arms. The others were really a little too short. I didn’t like the amount the rosejoints were screwed out. So I made some new ones, but this time I made them from solid ally bar. They are actually slightly lighter that the originals, and slightly longer, so all is not lost!
Once I had made the new arms It was on with the suspension. Not much to say here, apart from I had to weld on some tags for the anti-roll bar.
I still need to make the drop links for the bar, but again these really need to be done when the car is sitting at ride height to get the lengths correct.
I trimmed some of the sidepods away to clear the wheels when putting on steering lock. Hopefully this will mean they last a bit longer, but I have a sneaky suspicion that grit and other ‘rubbish’ will ‘smash’ the leading edges and cause it to retreat down the length of the pod.
