Engine In

So, the main focus for the evening was to get the engine in! Unfortunately I was on my own, which was not really a problem, apart from lifting the engine in. Luckily we have an engine crane, so I wrapped a tie down around the engine and craned it in. In similar fashion to the side panels, I covered the chassis in liberal amounts of tape to protect the paintwork. After a bit of a struggle it was in and all bolted down. I would have then gone on to assemble the exhaust and mount it all up, but I had not ordered the exhaust wrap in time, hopefully it should be at home next week.

Fuel Lines

With the engine in, I then plumbed up the fuel lines.

Oil Tank

Then in went the oil tank. This didnt go quite as smoothly as I would have hoped! In fact I had to unbolt the engine and half remove it to get the tank to go in! With the catch tank welded onto the side and the fittings welded on it just didnt quite fit! But it all went in reasonably well, and afterall the car has not been built before so these little problemettes are to be expected.

Then I bolted on the oil pipes, this included making a coupe of new -10 breather pipes.

Fuel Neck

Finally on went the fuel filler neck. I had toyed with mounting this flush with the body, but seeing as this should now be more easily removed I thought it would be more aero underneath.
