After sorting out the doors I turned my attention to the mirrors. It quickly became apparent that mounting the mirror to the door was going to be a bit silly. the whole thing was going to vibrate and the view from the mirror would be almost nill! So I borrowed the central mirror from the 935, seeing as it is being stripped for painting anyway, and just stuck it on the front of the spider.

If you ask anyone in bodywork what the worst job is, I almost guarantee they will say ‘doors’! But his was the next thing on the list, so after procrastinating for a while they had to be done! The first issue was where to hinge them from. I tried every possible conceivable arrangement but this was what I came up with. In fact it is the same as Jon Lee, but hey, there you go! Now some will say ‘why not a true gull wing style’ but most people seem to think this will blow off as the front edge will want to rise up as the air passes over it, unless you have a LOAD of catches to hold it down!
