So, after much progress last week and the promise of continued progress, this weekend was a bit of a disaster!
I arrived home to a large box from the powder coaters. ‘Great’ I thought, ‘I can finish off the engine’. However when I opened it up to have a look, something was not quite right. Then it struck me, they had painted them black!!! I was not all that happy to say the least, not only was i expecting them to be orange, but when I sent them to the painters they were already black! They have now agreed to repaint them, but this is going to take another 2 weeks!
I then decided to put the engine into the cradle anyway, and to put that into the car. The diff was then bolted onto the frame, and one of the two tension bars was turned up.

The rest of the weekend was then spent driving around the country sorting of bits and bobs. I had just bought a programmer, for the geartronics paddle shift, as we are now the recommended Porsche fitters, but it didnt program correctly. We ended up in Sheffield at Neils and we were all confused. After changing PICS and leads and boards, Neil then had the bright idea to check our programmer board, and then he found it, a non soldered component! In a BRAND NEW board bought over the internet, how it passed test I will never know… All sorted now and we are off testing the new software on Friday at Brands
So not much done, although lots of annoying things have been planned out, so I suppose thats useful. hopefully next week more shiney things will get bolted to the car.
