The LR1 chassis does come with eyes for the seat belt. However I have decided to use a single seater Willans belt, but these are bolt in belts so I needed to make some plates to bolt the belts to. There are 2 obvious solutions, firstly to use a nut and bolt and secondly to turn up some threaded inserts. The problem with a nut and bolt plate is that if you need to replace the belt you have to align up the nut, which is probably behind an aluminium panel.So I decided to turn up some inserts and weld them into the chassis. Below you can see one of the inserts welded onto a plate, in fact its the left hand mount.
