The tyres arrived on Wednesday this week and I promptly got Tony to get them fitted up, as I was away at Loughborough. Its funny, but all I have done is put the wheels on, but the car looks much more like a car!

The First Dabble With Setup
Sunday, October 21st, 2007Fuel Pressure Regulator
Sunday, October 21st, 2007The standard Hayabusa fuel system only has a single feed to the fuel rail. It seems that the regulator is within the pump. However, as I am not using the standard pump I need to use an external reg. The reg really needs to be mounted close to the rail. So to this end I have made a bracket to mount the reg to the engine cradle. Below is a pic of said mount, its not much but its surprising how long it takes to make these things.
Not sure why the camera makes the satin black look grey but it seems to have done throughout all the pics!

Getting Half The Diff Together
Sunday, October 21st, 2007Well I would have done all of it but I need to get the sprocket! I need to calculate the size sprocket I need from the difference in tyre dimensions from my tyres to Jons. I will try to do this next week, if i remember! So all I could really do, without having to dismantle it later, was press one side of the diff into the bearing housing. Its Lucky that we have an array of different size sockets or I am not sure how I would have done this without making a one off tube!

Fuel System Aeroquip
Sunday, October 21st, 2007I think I have found the quickest way of spending money…. AEROQUIP+FITTINGS!!! I spent a bit of time today making the fuel hoses from tank outlet to the filter and then to the pump. I have also made the pipe from the top of the tank to the roll over valve, more easily seen in the pic below. I haven’t made the hose from the pump outlet to the fuel rail or the return to the tank yet, I have a little plan for the throttle bodies…

Oil Tank
Sunday, October 14th, 2007Bit more time today. I decided to crack on with mounting the oil tank and fuel system. So, I decided to turn up three aluminium pillars to stop the oil tank wiggling around. The pillars are tapped 5/16 UNF. So I stuck the tank in, drilled the aluminium plate it sits on and hey presto, it doesn’t move!
