Steering Column

Had a bit of time today to work on the car. Having done seat I was able to sort the column. Not exactly a tricky job, just cutting the extra long tube down to the correct length. I have also welded two collars onto the column behind the nylon bushes in an attempt to stop the column spearing me if the worst should happen.

Seat Manufacture

Now, as I previously wrote I decided to use a bead seat instead of two part foam. The instructions were actually pretty good and take you through each stage.

The first step was to do a dummy dry run. This involves putting the bag into the cockpit, get in and then to evacuate the air from the bead bag. The picture below shows the first attempt.

Diff Plate Bearings

Not much time today, but I did have enough time to put the diff bearings into the plates. The best way to do this is to heat the aluminium plate to expand the hole and to then drop the bearing in.
