I have started work on the steering column. To this end I have tig welded the spline onto the column and the UJ to the spline for the rack. This pic shows a rough position for the wheel, but i need to make the seat to finalise it! This pic also shows the nicely bent up elbow piece. The front of the panel is sitting on a chassis tube at the front hence the gap between the panel and the chassis, but the extra length of aluminium is there as I dont know the length required to meet the body.

Now, obviously the column is slightly overlength!!! Again this all needs to be finalised when I have the seat made and me sitting in the car, but hopefully this should all be done soon! I am now just waiting on a piece of aluminium to sit on as I don’t really want to have the seat directly on the floor.

This pic shows the removable wheels in a bit more detail. I have used a pre-wired limo connector within the steering boss, which will mean that, as i have decided to use a paddle shift, I wont have to unplug the wheel aswell as remove it from the column. Just a bit poshish I suppose!
