So it was time to use the POR15 spray protective chemical. Now I ws not too sure about this but the instructions said to spray it on, leave for a while, and then wash off with water! This seemed to be asking for trouble, deliberatly spraying it with water but what the hey.
However it would seem my worries were well founded! Almost instantly the chassis started to get small amounts of surface rust. NOT happy but there you go. I had to bite the bullet a do it properly, with normal etch primer. More mess but the final outcome was MUCH better!
